| WELLESLEY, June 7, 2011. Since November of 2010, the Council of the Township of Wellesley has been involved in an internal reorganization and restructuring review which culminated with Council’s adoption of a reorganization chart and process on May 17, 2011. The intent of this review was to provide a more streamlined office structure and reporting mechanism to address the needs of the residents of the Township of Wellesley and to best use the resources available from a staffing perspective. The municipal services will be comprised of two segments, Corporate and Operations, under the revised organization. A new position of Executive Director/ Operations, Willis McLaughlin, will be responsible for Community Services (Recreation and Public Works), Fire and By-law, and will be responsible for all aspects of human resources for the Township of Wellesley staff. To support this position Council has confirmed a new position being the General Manager Community Services to be occupied by Kevin Beggs. Brad Voisin will move to the new role of Director of Facilities. The Executive Director Corporate/Clerk, Susan Duke will be responsible for Administration and Finance, Building, Planning and Economic Development. Diane Lorbetski will become the Director of Finance and Administration. New and revised positions for support staff are expected to evolve over the next few months. Council has recognized that numerous changes, liabilities and downloads due to legislation and service demands over the years have had large impacts on work volumes and daily operations. It is anticipated that the changes recommended will greatly encourage a productive atmosphere for staff, and streamline operations to better serve the public. |
